Why it matters
Instagram and TikTok open links in their own browser, where most people are not logged in to Amazon. The Amazon app already has their account, cart, and saved payment.
The full destination URL is stored as-is, query string included, so the Associates tag= parameter reaches Amazon untouched.
Amazon short links are redirects, and the app will not open through a redirect. We resolve them to the product URL when you create the link.
See clicks by country, city, device, and referrer for every link, so you know which post sent the traffic.

FAQ
Links tapped inside Instagram, TikTok, and similar apps open in that app’s built-in browser. Most people are not signed in to Amazon there, so buying means logging in first. In the Amazon app they are already signed in, with their cart, addresses, and payment methods saved.
Yes. Smart Link stores the destination URL with its full query string and sends visitors to it unchanged, so tag= and other parameters reach Amazon. Smart Link does not track commissions; Amazon Associates still reports those.
Yes. amzn.to, amzn.eu, amzn.asia, and a.co links are redirects, and the Amazon app does not open through a redirect. When you create the Smart Link we follow the redirect to the Amazon product URL and store that instead. If Amazon does not answer in time, the original link is kept.
On Android, supported browsers hand the link straight to the Amazon app when it is installed. On iPhone, and inside some in-app browsers, visitors see a page with an “Open in Amazon” button and tap once. If the app is not installed, the Amazon website opens. Desktop visitors go to the website.
Yes. A short link does not change your obligations. Follow the Amazon Associates Program Operating Agreement and the disclosure rules where you post, and make it clear that the link is an affiliate link.
No. Smart Link is an independent URL shortener. Amazon is a trademark of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
